A full 3D SketchUp model and floor plan redesign created for a contractor exploring the maximum potential of an existing residential property in Roseburg, Oregon. The project focused on improving flow, increasing livable space, and evaluating multi-use configurations.

Insight
The existing home had poor circulation, limited natural flow between spaces, and awkward access to the backyard—requiring movement through utility areas. With no existing digital drawings available, the first challenge was accurately capturing the structure as-is before exploring redesign options.

Solution
I visited the property to take measurements and reference photos, then built the home from scratch in SketchUp.
From there, I explored a maximum-potential layout that improved main-level flow, added direct backyard access, optimized bedroom layouts upstairs, and introduced a basement ADU studio for rental use with a private entrance.

Impact
Although the renovation was not ultimately constructed, the contractor gained a clear vision of the property’s potential and a full set of visuals to evaluate future options. The project also marked my first complete 3D architectural build—solidifying SketchUp as a core skill and reinforcing my interest in architectural visualization as a complement to my design work.
